Every body is unique
Just like your fingerprint, your health picture is like no one else's. Kinesiology is a holistic natural-health discipline with roots in anatomy, physiology and Traditional Chinese Medicine. It uses gentle muscle testing to detect where the body is out of balance, then helps restore harmony across the emotional, structural and biochemical dimensions of you.
A real-life example
Take a new mother with low back pain. The structural piece might be core weakness; the emotional piece might be feeling unsupported by those around her; and the biochemical piece might be dehydration and a magnesium deficiency. Each of those threads is real, and each may need attention. Kinesiology helps identify which threads are actually involved, then works to restore balance across them — with practical recommendations for strengthening and support in daily life.
Most imbalances trace back to familiar sources: trauma, illness, accidents and stress. Often these accumulate quietly over time, until one day the body reaches its threshold and symptoms appear.
Kinergetics — a deeper stream of kinesiology
Kinergetics is a branch of the discipline developed by Phillip Rafferty, weaving classic kinesiology principles together with the gentle, restorative energy of reiki. People living with the following have found it helpful:
- Chronic pain and chronic fatigue syndrome
- Trauma and its after-effects
- Fibromyalgia
- TMJ pain
- Heavy metal toxicity
Kinergetics tends to go deep quickly, and many clients describe significant shifts in just one or two visits. It also brings conscious awareness of the reasons underneath a problem, so you can take practical action in your own life.
Safety and scope
One of the distinguishing features of Kinergetics is its focus on moving the body out of the fight-or-flight response and restoring hydration, so the body's innate healing ability can switch back on. The connections between trauma, dehydration, nutrient deficiencies and chronic syndromes are well established in this field. That said, kinesiology does not diagnose or treat disease — it balances energy — and I always recommend seeing your GP for any medical concerns. It works best as part of a complete approach to your health.
